Since 2012, the Great Futures Breakfast has been one of Tampa Bay’s premier fundraising events, bringing together community leaders, partners, and philanthropists who believe in expanding opportunity for young people.
This annual gathering unites hundreds of supporters for a morning of connection, inspiration, and generosity, raising more than $1 million each year to support Club programs across Hernando, Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas, counties.
2026 KEYNOTE SPEAKER
COURTNEY B. VANCE
Actor/BGCA Alumni Hall of Fame Ambassador
A Tony-nominated actor, producer and graduate of the prestigious Yale School of Drama, Courtney Vance attended the Highland Park unit of Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan. There Vance met camp counselor George Browne, who helped Vance became a scholarship student at the city’s most prestigious prep school. Harvard came next; then Yale Drama School. Vance’s two Tony Award nominations came for August Wilson’s Fences and for John Guare’s Six Degrees of Separation. Film credits include: The Hunt for Red October, Hamburger Hill, and The Preacher’s Wife.

LOU PINIELLA
MLB Player (retired) and West Tampa BGC Alumnus
Major league hitter and coach Lou Piniella first played organized baseball at the West Tampa Boys & Girls Club. His career as a player was spent with the Kansas City Royals and the New York Yankees. In 1984 he retired from play to become full-time coach of the Yankees. In 1990 he became the manager of the Cincinnati Reds, leading them to that year’s World Series championship. In 1995, while coaching the Seattle Mariners, Piniella was named American League Manager of the Year by the Baseball Writers Association of America and Major League Manager of the Year by the Associated Press.

This gathering provides an opportunity to learn more about the impact Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tampa Bay is making in the lives of thousands of youth, and how our community can come together to invest in the next generation.
Together, we can ensure young people across Hernando, Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas counties have the support, mentorship, and opportunities they need to succeed in school, career, and life.
