LIFE SKILLS &
LEADERSHIP
HELPING YOUTH
POSITIVELY IMPACT THEIR COMMUNITY
At Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tampa Bay, leadership development is woven throughout every aspect of the Club experience.

Through programs such as Keystone Club, Torch Club, and Youth of the Year, young people build confidence, strengthen decision-making skills, and learn how to lead in their communities.

Youth gain real-world experience in teamwork, communication, and service, helping them develop the life skills needed to navigate challenges, contribute to their communities, and succeed in school, career, and life.

KEYSTONE CLUB
Ages 14-18
Keystone is Boys & Girls Club’s ultimate teen program. This unique leadership development experience provides opportunities for young people ages 14 to 18. Youth participate, both in and out of the Club, in activities in three focus areas: academic success, career preparation and community service. With the guidance of an adult adviser, Keystone Clubs aim to have a positive impact on members, the Club and community.

TORCH
CLUBS
Ages 11-13
Torch Clubs are chartered, small-group leadership and service clubs for boys and girls ages 11 to 13. A Torch Club is a powerful vehicle through which Club staff can help meet the distinctive character development needs of younger adolescents at a critical stage in their life.

YOUTH OF THE YEAR
Ages 14-18
A recognition and awards program that acknowledges outstanding members in the Clubs. The Youth of the Year (YOY) program helps young people develop their leadership and communication skills through an extensive application and interview process that is held during the annual competition. Senior winners can advance to the state, regional, and national competition. Youth of the Year is Boys & Girls Clubs highest honor.

MILLION HOURS OF SERVICE
All Ages
Studies show that young people who engage in service do better in school, maintain positive relationships with adults and avoid risky behaviors. The Million Members, Million Hours of Service initiative aims to engage 1 million Boys & Girls Club youth in service projects each year, with each donating at least one hour of service.
